Next we will manage the Approvals page. Several objects on this page with the exception of the buttons are in three groups. Groups can make the process of setting field states much easier as long as all of the objects in the group have the same rules.

| 1. | Open the Approvals page. |
| 2. | With Stage/Role combination as All/All on the , select all three groups (holding down the Ctrl key to select all three groups together). |
| 3. | On the , set the State to 'Disabled'. Most will never need access to these fields so Disabled will be the default state. |

| 4. | Now we have to set the exceptions. With Stage/Role combination as Manager Approval/Manager in the Browser bar, select the Manager Approval group. |
| 5. | On the Properties bar, set the State to 'Normal'. |
| 6. | On the Browser bar, change the Stage/Role combination to Director Approval/Finance then select the Finance Approval group. |
| 7. | On the Properties bar, set the State to 'Normal'. |
| 8. | On the Browser bar, change the Stage/Role combination to Director Approval/Executive and select the Executive Approval group. |
| 9. | Set the State to 'Normal'. |
| 10. | After setting your field access rules for the form, you can turn off State Markers from the View menu. |
