Next, we will manage the table object. Remember that the table object is a collection of objects (columns) inside a single table object. When field states are concerned, it is possible to treat each column as a separate object with separate states.

| 1. | With Stage/Role combination as All/All, select the Description column. To select a table’s column, click on the column header and the column takes on a darker background. |
| 2. | Set the State to 'Read-Only'. |
| 3. | Repeat for the other three columns. Note that the state markers are not shown for the table object columns. |
| 4. | In the Browser bar, change the Stage selection to 'New Application'. |
| 5. | Select the Description column again. |
| 6. | Set the Stage to 'Normal'. |
| 7. | Repeat for the Quantity and Price columns, but NOT for the Value column. |
Note: The Value column will always be calculated by the form , so it should remain read-only at all times. The Total will always be calculated so it should remain read-only at all times.
| 8. | With Stage/Role combination as All/All, select the Total object. |
| 9. | Set the State to 'Read-Only'. |
