Add Radio Buttons to the Approvals Page

Previous  Home topic  Next  Print this topic Send Feedback

On the approvals page, you will add input objects which will allow the manager and directors to approve or reject the request and allow space for comments.

Note: A pair of radio buttons is the best option for an approved/rejected type choice. The difference between radio buttons and checkboxes is that a radio button group will only allow a single response whereas a checkbox group will allow multiple responses.

Once you create a single group of approval objects for the manager, you can then copy and paste to create similar groups for the directors.

1.Add a Radio Group object to the page.
2.Drag the right edge of the group open to cover about 90% of the page width.
3.Select the third radio button and delete since you only need two options.
4.Select the second radio button and move it to the right of the first.
5.Select the group and in Group Properties change the name to ‘Manager Approval Group’. Including the term ‘Group’ in the name often helps to identify groups when you are creating behaviors and other intelligence for the form later.
6.Select the Has header check box.
7.Change the caption to ‘Manager Approval’.
8.From the Style section of the Properties bar, select Solid from the Border drop-down.
9.Add a Multiline Text Input object to the right of the text and name it ‘Manager Comments’.
10.Add a Text object next to the multiline text object and change the text to ‘Comments’ (see image below).
