Adding a Datasource

Previous  Home topic  Next  Print this topic Send Feedback

Provide a path to the reporting data by adding a datasource. PerfectForms™ is able to merge data from one or more forms into a single report. You can set up multiple datasources from the same form if needed. This capability is used to load different views of the same form and often involves filters.

1.With a report loaded in the Report Designer, click on the layout canvas background (outside the report page area).
2.In the Properties bar, under Data-Sources within the Main section click New.
3.In the Data-Source dialog, click Select. Locate the form on which you want to report.

Note: You will only be allowed to select from published forms (including your own forms) and other shared forms to which you have reporting access.

4.The dialog lists all available fields on the selected form. Select only the fields you intend to use within the report, as selecting unnecessary fields will slow the speed of reporting.

5.To override the default text label for a field, enter the new text in the Display Name column.
6.To set a filter for the datasource, click Edit and add the filter parameters in the Datasource Filter Editor.

Note: See the Formula and Condition Editor topics in the Designing a Form section for more information on formulas and operators.

7.Click OK.
