Using the Connection Agent Editor

Previous  Home topic  Next  Print this topic Send Feedback

The Connection Agent Editor provides a user interface that allows you to update commonly accessed areas of that config.xml file such as the log-in information, IP address rules, datasources and username and password encryption.

Encrypt Authentication Parameters

The Encrypt Authentication Parameters box initiates an encryption algorithm to run on the username and password information in the config file. Once encrypted, the file will remain encrypted and can only be modified using the tool.

Important!  Taking a back-up copy prior to encryption is recommended as there is no way to 'de-encrypt' the config file once it is done.  Encrypted files can only be read by version 1.14 of the Connection Agent and higher.

General Tab

In the General tab, you can add or remove logins and IP Address rules.

Logins - Each entry gives access to an individual user or group of users. For more information on adding and removing log-in entries, see Log In Parameters.
IP Filter - The IP Filter tells the connection agent to only listen to or deny requests from specific IP Addresses. If no entries are found, access to the system is completely denied by default. For more information on adding or removing IP filters, see Access Statement.
Log Files Location - This is an optional parameter. Click Browse to select the directory in which to place the log files. If you input a file path directly, note that if the directory doesn't exist, it will NOT be automatically created and, consequently, the log files will not be created. For this reason, only enter a valid file path in this space.

Datasources Tab

In the Datasource tab, add or remove datasources. A datasource tells the system:

Which database/LDAP should be exposed.
On which server the database is located.
Which of the users defined within in the Logins area of the General tab can have access.
