Creating a New Report

Previous  Home topic  Next  Print this topic Send Feedback

The Report Designer interface looks similar to the Form Designer. Because reports behave like forms, they can have images, themes, multiple pages and almost any feature available on forms. For more information on building forms, see Designing a Form.

Note: To ensure that data is available for the new report, it is important to confirm that form instances have actually been submitted for the form used as the datasource for the new report.

1.Log in to PerfectForms™.
2.On the Reports Dashboard, click the New button then select Report.

New Report Selection

3.Detail for a new blank report is shown. Enter a Name and then click Design. The Report Designer loads the new empty report.
4.In the Report Properties bar, under Data-Sources within the Main section, click New.
5.In the Data-Source dialog, click Select. Locate the form from which you want the report data to be pulled.
6.Once the form is selected, the Data-Source dialog will list all available fields on the selected form. Select only the fields you intend to use within the report, as selecting unnecessary fields will slow the speed of reporting.

7.To override the default text label for a field, enter the new text in the Display Name column.
8.Click OK.

Now you can begin laying out your report by dragging reporting objects onto the canvas.
