Editing Form Settings on the Dashboard

Previous  Home topic  Next  Print this topic Send Feedback

The following are the main form settings available on the Forms Dashboard detail area when a form is selected in the Edit Forms tree. Additional properties are available when in the Form Designer.

Name - The name of the form as shown on the Dashboard and elsewhere. It can be changed here as well as in the Form Designer. It must be unique within all forms owned by that user but it can have the same name as a form created by another user.
Active - The form owner can disable the form by unchecking the Active box. This will prevent anyone from accessing both the form layout and form instances.
Versions - This refers to the version of the form or report. Forms and reports can be rolled back to previous versions using the Version drop-down on the Dashboard. See the Version Control topic for additional information.
Permissions - Available to you only if you are the form owner. This allows you to specify who is able to create new form instances. If it is a shared form, it also allows further permissions (editing, reporting, etc.) to be set. See Granting Form Permissions for additional information.
Form Instances - Available only if instances have been created for the form. This area allows you to click a category name for form instances (such as Open instances or specifically those with Attention Needed) and navigate to a list of those instances.

Form actions include:

Design - This opens the form in the Form Designer where you can begin editing the form.
Publish - This publishes a production version of the form. Once the form has been published, it can be deployed and accessed by respondents.
New Instance - This will create a new instance of the form.
Link - This provides URL and HTML links to a published form.
Share/Unshare - This moves a form between the Shared Forms and Private Forms areas.
Migrate - This dialog allows you to:
import a form design
export any published version of the form design to your local drive
save form instance data to a local file
transfer ownership of a shared form to another user.

The form owner or any other user who has been granted design privileges on the form can perform the Migrate tasks.

Delete - Use this option to delete the form along with all form instance data, or draft copies you created while testing the form. Deletion can be a very destructive action so caution should be exercised when choosing this option.
