Mobile approval forms are defined on the Notification level. Each notification can have its own unique mobile approval form. A designer can choose to include a mobile approval form in none, one, several or all notifications associated with his or her form.

Note: Mobile approval forms are only available through notifications. Creating a new form instance is not possible on a mobile device.

Notifications associated with mobile approval forms are delivered as they would be for any form. Delivery is dictated by the settings in the notification message. Notifications are always displayed on the user's Notifications Dashboard. If, when the notification is created, the "Send by email" option is selected, then the notification will also be sent by e-mail.

When the form user accesses the e-mailed notification with a mobile device and clicks on the link to the form, the PerfectForms™ system verifies that a mobile approval form has been added to the notification. If it has, the system renders the scaled-down HTML version of the form in the browser of the mobile device. The scaled-down version only contains two objects from the originating form (Radio Button and Text Input), but it reflects the State property (Hidden, Read-only, etc.) of these objects as defined by the form designer, and also shows the objects’ current instance data.

If the form user accesses the same notification from his or her desktop browser, the full-sized version of the form will be presented instead. The form designer should keep this in mind when designing the form to ensure the form logic works for both paths (desktop or mobile). The image below illustrates these alternating paths.
