Using the Notifications Dashboard is a convenient way of posting notifications. For someone handling a lot of approvals or who regularly logs in, Dashboard notifications are the preferred method. It means users do not spend their time parsing e-mail messages that end up being redundant information. The Notifications Dashboard draws attention to all form instances needing attention.

Consider reserving e-mail notifications for those users who log in infrequently or for reminders and escalations.
