Setting up the PayPal Account

The first step to integrate PayPal is to have an account with PayPal. The following steps provide detail on how to sign up for a test account.

1.Create a PayPal Test Account and log in to the sandbox: PayPal Sandbox Login Page
2.After successful account creation/login, click on Create a preconfigured buyer or seller account. If you don’t see that, then click on Test Account which will be on the left side menu, and click on the Preconfigured link.
3.Create two test accounts, one each for buyer and seller. Type your own password for better access as you might require it in latter stages.
4.Check Test Email from the left side menu which should have approval for the seller merchant account.
5.Open a new browser and log in to https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/ using the newly created seller user ID and password.
6.Click on the Merchant Services tab.
7.Once the page is loaded click on Website Payments Pro.
8.Once the page opens you should see the Getting Started box. Click the Getting Started box and on the following page, click the Agree button.
9.Now, go back to the browser where you had created the seller and buyer test account: https://developer.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/devscr?cmd=_certs-session.
10.Click on API Credentials on the left side menu and make sure you have an API user name, password and signature. If not:
a.Log back in to PayPal.
b.Click on the My Account tab, then click on More Options under the Profile sub-menu.
c.Click on API Access under Account Information.
d.Create an API certificate which will give you your user name, password and signature for the API access.
