View Picture Example

Within PerfectForms™, it is not possible to transfer a picture via a connection from one form to another or to import a picture from an external database into a form. PerfectForms™ does offer the ability though to attach pictures in one form and then view them in another form. This example demonstrates how to complete this process for your forms.

When attaching pictures in one form and viewing them in another, it is not the picture itself that is transferred. When a file is attached using a "File Attach" object, that object then has a unique ID as a value. That ID can be extracted into a text input field and can then be passed to another form using a connection. As a result, the ID is passed, not the picture itself. Once the ID is imported into another form it can be used as the "Source Attachment" property for a picture thus displaying the picture.

Note: This demonstration is comprised of two forms and one connection. To download these as well as a text file with simple setup instructions, click here. To import the forms, log in to PerfectForms™ and proceed to the Forms Dashboard. Click Import then browse to the .PF files on your local drive and continue through the wizard.
