Click the Select button to display the Select a Form dialog. Here you can choose from any of your private or shared forms to determine which form will be launched when the behavior is activated.
Once the form is selected, the form name will display in the read-only field to the left of the Select button on the Properties bar.

Select the field within the selected form that should be retrieved when the Get Field From Other Instance command runs.
If you do not see the field you need, you may need to click the Refresh button located to the right of the form field selection drop-down list.

Form Instance ID

Selection of this radio button enables you to enter a static text or numeric value to represent the form instance ID.
If the form instance ID you want will not be dynamic (based on form input or other options), it is appropriate to enter the form instance ID here.

Value of a Field
|
Selection of this radio button enables you to select a field from your form from which the form instance ID can be pulled.
To select the desired field, click the Select button, then navigate to the field containing the form instance ID. Once a selection has been made, the value will be shown in the read-only text box to the left of the Select button.
Each form instance has a unique ID. In order to retrieve a specific field from a specific instance, this ID must be known. In most cases, this ID will be stored in a form field within the current form instance. Often, this will be a New Instance button object or the Child Form button object within a Table object.

Special

Selection of this radio button lets you choose from a predefined list of form meta data that is universally available in forms to act as the form instance ID. This includes special values such as Instance Name, Instance ID, URL, Current Date, etc.

Formula

Select this radio button then click Compose to provide a condition or formula as the form instance ID. Formulas can use field values, dates, button states, URLs or other special values.

Click the Select button to display the Select a Field dialog. Here you can choose which field the field retrieved from the other instance should be written to within the current form instance.
Once the field is selected, the field name will display in the read-only field to the left of the Select button on the Properties bar.

Summary
|
Auto-Summary
|
Auto-summary refers to the text that will be shown on the command in the Behaviors canvas. By default, this check box is selected.
For commands that use a condition or calculation, Auto-Summary will display the formula selected in the Condition Properties. If no condition exists, nothing will be displayed.
If you wish to have other summary text display, clear the Auto-summary check box and type the custom text in the list box below. Your text will be retained if you later decide to enable Auto-summary.
