Enter a name for the object. This is the name of the object as it will show in field chooser, the Browser bar and other object lists.

Enter the label text to be shown on the link object.

Selection of this radio button enables you to enter a static text or numeric value. If the URL you want to direct the form user to will not be dynamic (based on form input or other options) then it is appropriate to enter the address here.

Value of a Field
|
The value of a field option pulls the URL from a field elsewhere in the form. To select the desired field, click the Select button, then navigate to the field containing the desired value.

Special
|
Selection of this radio button lets you choose the URL from a predefined list of form meta data that is universally available in forms. This includes special values such as Instance Name, Instance ID, URL, Current Date, etc.

Select this radio button then click Compose to provide a condition or formula as the URL value. Formulas can use field values, dates, button states or other special values.

Select the location where the URL will be opened. Options include:
| • | New Browser Window - With this, the current browser window displaying the form remains open and the URL is loaded in a separate browser window. |
| • | Current Browser Window - For this option, you will navigate away from the form in order to display the linked Web page. |

Choose from Default, Normal, Disabled or Hidden for link objects.
With field state management, you control access to individual objects on the form. You can prevent individual roles from changing, or even viewing, specific data or areas on the form. See Limiting User Access to Form Fields for more information on how to control access to fields.

Click the ellipses button to display the Edit State dialog. Use this option to hide, show or disable objects depending on the user's role and/or the workflow stage.

Fonts from the designers local machine will also be available, however if the same font is not installed on the users machine then a standard font will be used to display the data.
