Once the form is in use, the various instances of the form can be seen on user . For the purpose of differentiating between , it is often helpful to set the form up to generate a form instance name using data from that instance. This ensures that users are not presented with a list of instances which cannot be easily identified.
The instance name is set in Form Properties and can be fixed text, the value of a single field, value of a special form property or a combination using the . The most likely options will be the value of a single field or a combination.
To set the as a product of form fields:

| 1. | With a form loaded in the , click the button. |
| 2. | To view the form properties, either click the navigation arrows in the or click on the form background (area surrounding the page in the area). |
| 3. | Expand the Main section. |
| 4. | In the Instance Name properties, select either Value of a Field (if a single field contains the Instance Name) or go to the next step to combine fields using the Formula Editor. |
| 5. | To set the instance name as a combination of field contents, select the Formula option and click Compose. The is displayed. |

| 6. | With the first line <empty> highlighted, select Field on the right and then click Select. |
| 7. | Under Select a Field, expand Page 1, select the first object field in the expression (e.g. First Name) and click OK. |

| 8. | In the Formula Editor, click Add Line. |
| 9. | In the Text or Number field at the top right, add a space character by pressing the spacebar key. |
| 10. | Click Add Line again. |
| 11. | Now select Field again and select the second object field in the expression (e.g. Last Name). |

| 12. | Click OK to close the Formula Editor. |
