Preparing for the Installation

SQL Server should be set to allow authentication through SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode. This is done within SQL Management Studio by right-clicking on the server in the object explorer and then selecting the security settings from the list. You can then set the Server Authentication mode on the right hand side.

If you are installing on a clean server, you will need to ensure that ASP.Net 2.0 is properly installed and enabled. You should download the .NET framework. To check whether IIS is properly installed, complete the following steps:

1.Launch the IIS console on your server then locate the server name in the tree view.
2.You should see below this a folder titled Web Service Extensions. This folder should contain an entry ASP.Net v2.0.50727.
3.Ensure that the ASP.Net v2.0.50727 entry is set to Allowed. If this is not set, enable it in IIS by locating the folder C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework (32-bit Windows) or C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64 (64-bit Windows).
4. From this folder, run aspnet_regiis.exe with -enable -ir (please check the parameters carefully as these may not meet your precise needs).
5.Once this has run, ASP.Net should be up and running.
