1.Locate and run the installation setup file: PerfectFormsSetup.exe. The initial screen of the Installation Wizard is the License Agreement. If you want to print the terms and conditions for separate review (in PDF format), click the Print Terms... button. Otherwise, review and accept the terms of the license agreement by clicking the I accept the terms of the license agreement check box. Click Next.

2.Choose the installation type. You may carry out a complete installation or just install the individual components. Click Next.

3.Enter the Product License Key. If you do not have a product license key and wish to proceed in trial mode select the check box underneath the license key.

Note: If you choose to install as a trial version you will not see the Activation Screen shown in Step 4. You will be taken directly to the Folder Destination screen shown in Step 9.


Select the Enable rebranding check box if you want to re-brand after the installation is complete. Selecting this option removes the PerfectForms™ logo and allows you to add your own logo and customization settings. For more information, see Removing the PerfectForms™ Logo.

4.You will now be required to select an activation method for your license key.

 

When installing PerfectForms™ On-Premise, unless you are installing a trial version, the license key must be activated in order for the installation to function correctly. You can initiate the activation either automatically, if you have an Internet connection, or manually. The manual method is used in secure environments where the server does not have Internet access. It requires that you specify the version to be activated on the Activation page (http://app.perfectforms.com/activation) and then enter a code on the Activation page that follows.

 

If you choose the Automatic activation method, you will be taken directly to the Destination Folder screen shown in Step 9.

5.On the Manual Activation screen, copy the text from the Activation Code field. Next, open the PerfectForms Activation Key Generator page by clicking this link http://app.perfectforms.com/activation or copying and pasting this URL into a browser.

6.On the Activation Key Generator page, click the button for the version you want to activate. This will take you to the Challenge/Response Key page.

7.On the Challenge/Response Key page, paste the activation code (the text you copied from the Activation Code field on the Manual Activation screen in the Installer) into the box under the Challenge Key section. Next click Validate. This will populate the Response Key box. Copy the text from the Response Key box then return to the Manual Activation screen in the Installer.

8.On the Manual Activation screen, click Next. The Manual Activation - Provide Code screen displays. On this page, paste the authorization code you copied from the Response Key box on the Challenge/Response Key page into the Authorization Code box. Click Next.

9.On the Destination Folder screen, specify the location where the PerfectForms™ application files will be installed. Click Next.

10.Select the name of the Web site to install to from the IIS Web Site drop-down list. Enter a Virtual Folder name within the selected site (if it is something other than the root directory). Specify the Web Site URL. Click Next.

11.On the Database Server screen, enter your SQL Server Name and Instance, Database Name and login credentials. Click the Test Database Connection button to ensure that you have entered valid information. Click Next.

IMPORTANT: Installation user requires 'sysadmin' role and SQL authentication. You must have full administrative privileges to the SQL Server Instance for installation or update of PerfectForms™. See the Server Side Requirements topic for additional detail on Installation and Runtime users and what happens if you do not have the necessary administrative privileges.

12.On the E-mail Server screen, enter the SMTP server details you wish to use. This is important as all PerfectForms™ e-mail notifications are sent via SMTP. Click the Test E-mail Settings button before proceeding to ensure that you receive the test e-mail. Click Next.

13.On the System Administrator screen, enter the information for the principal user within the PerfectForms™ system. Click Next.

Note: Be sure to record the details you enter here as you will need them to log into PerfectForms™.

14.You are now ready to complete the installation. Click Next to begin the configuration of PerfectForms™.

14.On the Installation screen, the Installer prepares your system for the installation. When this process is complete, you will automatically be progressed to the Installation Complete screen.

16.On the Installation Complete screen, you may choose to launch either the Administration Console or the PerfectForms™ application or you may click Finish to close the Installation Wizard.
