You can use any form you like to test out API calls, but for those developers who are only interested in quickly seeing how the process works and do not need to familiarize themselves with the rest of the system, please follow the next steps.
You can call this form 'FirstTest'. You should note that the name you choose for your form is the named assigned to the Web service, so please note this when reading the documentation and source code examples.

| 1. | Login to PerfectForms™ and go to the Forms Dashboard. |

| 4. | Double-click the new folder entry and rename it 'APITests'. |
| 5. | Now, with the new folder selected, click New then Form. A new form will be automatically created. |
| 6. | Change the name of the form to 'FirstTest' and click Apply Changes. |
| 7. | Click Design at the bottom of the screen to edit the form. |
| 8. | Drag a Text Input object from the Common Inputs section of the Toolbox onto the Layout canvas area. |
| 9. | In the Properties bar on the right, change the Name property of the field from 'Text Input 1' to 'First Name'. |
| 10. | Drag and drop a Submit button and a Text object (both in the Common Visuals section) onto the canvas. |
| 11. | Once you have added the Text object, change its Name property to 'First Name'. The form is now complete. |

| 13. | Close the form by clicking Form > Close on the menu bar or by clicking the Close button in the upper right corner of the Layout canvas area. |
| 14. | In the Forms Dashboard, publish the form by clicking on the Publish button at the bottom of the details area for the form. The form is now ready to be used with the API. The only remaining step is to get the URL of the Web service that manages this specific form. |
| 15. | Click the Link button at the bottom of the details area to launch the Link to Latest Published Version dialog. You will find the URL in the API Reference field. |

| 16. | You can now test the Web service by copying and pasting the URL into a browser window. |
