Form Designer Overview

The Form Designer includes a drawing canvas in which you drag and drop objects to design the form, behavior or workflow. Once objects are placed on the page, they can be moved or manipulated. To change the form, page or object properties (e.g., style, navigation, and behavior), select the object on the canvas and modify the attributes in the Properties bar.

 

The Form Designer consists of three views:
 

Layout (L) - The Layout view is where you design the user interface for the form.
Behavior (B) - The Behavior view is where you add form intelligence or actions based on user input such as calculations, validations, showing/hiding objects, sending data or performing lookups.  
Workflow (W) - The Workflow view is where you build the process which will route your form between stakeholders. This is also where you will set up notifications, reminders, and escalations based on the process points.

 

The following are the main navigation options in the Form Designer:

 

To switch between views, click L, B, or W on the toolbar.

The menu bar includes Form, Edit, Format and View menus regardless of view (L, B, or W). To see a complete breakdown of all menu bar options, see the Form Designer Menu Options Reference topic.

Menus

 

To resize a bar or the canvas, drag the dividers located between the Toolbox/Browser bar, canvas and Properties bar.

To expand or collapse a portion of the Toolbox/Browser or Properties bars, click the up and down arrows within a blue section heading.

To go to the PerfectForms™ Dashboard, click the Close button on the Form Designer toolbar.
