Planning Your Workflow

The planning phase of building workflow into a form will vary according to the purpose of the form, the needs of stakeholders, and data collection.

Understand Your Process First

Get a good understanding of your process and identify the key stages, tasks, goals and needs of stakeholders.

Even though you have a good grasp of your manual process, the act of diagramming it in PerfectForms™ can identify process points where changes or revisions are needed. Communicate those changes with stakeholders to define your process more precisely.

Who are the People Involved in the Process?

Make a list of the people involved with the process both directly and indirectly. Consult with all levels of management and production to verify the process steps.

Note: For additional information on planning your workflow, see the Planning your Workflow help guide. You can also access the interactive demonstration of workflow management, located in the Allowing a Form User to Save Then Submit Later topic (available only in the online help version of this guide).
