Lists and drop-down lists both store two discrete types of information:
| • | Captions - This is the text that is in the list itself. |
| • | Values - Each list entry has a value that is stored in the database. This can be a numeric value or text. If you want to analyze a value with statistical functions such as Sum, Average etc., then you should use numbers only. |
The Formula and Condition Editor can reference either of these values. Wherever you find a List object, you will see that the List object item can be expanded to reveal these values.
