The values returned by check-boxes are only true or false (checked or not checked). If you need to have the captions of all values checked in a notification, there are several ways to accomplish the task. I would use a hidden field. Build a behavior that populates a hidden multi-line text box with the value of what is in the hidden multi-line input field plus a space plus the caption of the check-box when it is checked. Run the behavior behind the submit button rather than on the individual check-boxes so your users can change their minds without giving false-positives.Then you can use the hidden field in your email notification.
Have a great day!
Dennis

I have searched this forum, but I can't seem to find how to do this:
I have a registration form that has a checkbox group field. I'd like to send a receipt acknowledgement notification email to the submitter including all the checkboxes (captions) they checked in the form. I have tried selecting Checkbox Group as a field in the message tab, but when I test the form, the response only has one of the multiple items that I selected. I'd like to show them everything they checked. I hope this make sense. I'm sure the solution is simple, but I'm new at this. Thanks in advance.

The condition you describe has been reported and is to be addressed in the next release (v1.18). You most likely have 'Snap to grid' enabled in the View functions. If you disable 'Snap to grid' until the v1.18 update, this should not occur.

Anybody experienced some of the objects in a behaviour layout moving to a random locations on the page especially if editing them or adding new objects from the toolbox. This very frustrating when you have a neat behaviour layout, you move the position of one item and it appears to just go to a random place taking its links with it. You try to put it back to where it was and it goes somewhere else. Having do one change, save thew design in case they and then do the next change. Have only noticed this since the last update (but that may be coincidental).

We don’t have the implementation currently. Alternatively you can have a hidden button with the required font size and text, which can be shown on the desired event and hide the original button.

Hi,

I have a form with a number of pages with similar content except for some text.

Each page has a Radio Button Group with three radio buttons. I have added a behavior to "Group changes field data" for the Radio Button Group. This behavior uses a Multiple Branch to check which radio button is selected and then set another object on the page to a corresponding value, using the a Set Field command. This works fine.

Because all the pages in the form are to be the same (with just some text changes), I set up the first page (Page 1) so it works perfectly, then created a new page and copied all the objects from Page 1 to the new page (Page 2), using the Edit menu on the Layout designer. This also copies the Behaviors for the objects.

This all works great, EXCEPT that the copied behaviors on Page 2 still reference the objects on Page 1. That is, the Multiple Branch condition still references the Radio Buttons on Page 1 and the Set Field command still references the object on Page 1.

I expected that when an object is Pasted to a new page, and the object's behaviors are also pasted, that the resulting behavior would reference the new objects on the new page. It seems strange that it doesn't work this way.

Is this a bug or am I missing something? All help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Steph

I have identified another issue with the date difference function for weekdays, this time in version 1.16. If a date range ends on January 3rd, 2011, it will calculate an extra day.

For instance, the date difference for week days between Friday, December 31 and Monday, January 3rd is two, when it should be one.

If the range is extended to January 4th, the difference remains at two. I used the test form I created for the original issue to test this issue.

(note, I corrected the date, which is 2011)

I would like to suggest an improvement to the Show Message behavior. Instead of only "OK or Cancel" or "Yes or No" options, how about a "Yes, No, or Cancel" option?

This would be useful in my current form, which prompts a user on close. After a user clicks close, if they have un-submitted changes, a message asks the user if they would like to submit the changes. Right now, they can click Yes or No. If yes, the changes are submitted and the form is closed. If no, the changes are not submitted, and the form is closed. If there were a cancel option, the user can click cancel and prevent the form from closing.

I can think of several workarounds (such as, if the user clicks no, have a second message ask if they would still like to close the form), but I think having a cancel button would be a cleaner way to achieve the objective.

No reason why not ;) As you've seen, you can set up filters in your reports to filter for whatever you want but of course if you have multiple forms and therefore multiple datasources in your report you would need to set up a filter for each datasource. It may then be appropriate to use a filter input behaviours perhaps under a 'button' where you then have a text input field where you can enter in the customer name/email etc you have stored on the form and then a filter input behaviour for each datasource using the 'wildcard' function and then set to the value of the text input field

ie. I have each month broken up into multible forms (every month has over 100 form instances) april, may, june, july...all with different customers on them depending when they signed up. Can I do a search of all forms to find one customer.

I have considered that option, however I'm designing the wizard-style form to allow users to enter certain pieces of information on each form page. I have behaviors to check for mandatory attachments on those pages. It just wouldn't be the cleanest way to go, having the user click back and forth from the data entry pages to the attachment page. Thanks for the suggestion.

Have you considered a slightly different approach to the use of file attachments ? A number of users find it very useful to set up a specific page for attachments, and within the form where you want to allow users to attach (or view) these, simply have a 'go to page xxx' function so you only have one copy of each attachment on the form and on the attachments page have a 'return' function to take them back to the page they came from when they have done.
For instance if you allow your users to detach as well as attach, and have 2 copies of the same file on your form, they could update one of these files but not the other and it may be harder to manage ?

nzgz you see in the screen shot would relate to your form when it is published. look at a form you have deployed and under the LINK button to see how it relates to the other methods of linking - in the 'embed' and 'preload' links seeing the similar reference to the form.
the 'params' of course will relate to the parameter index you have defined within the Get External Call Parameter for the fields you wish to populate

Util.js is part of the actual application and not relevant in the External Call. The only time you'd refer to this file is in the OnPremise version where you would be 'customising' in terms of the standard Perfectforms logo's

i'm hoping, though, this means there's a way to push data to the forms based on an outside action, eg: a javascript function acting on the form/report.

either way, thanks ahead of time.

Paul.. sorry can't follow what your question is here?
could you raise it in the support ticket where you can attach some screen shots to help clarify what you are meaning and/or even an export of your form with details of what you want to do and where.

how do you show the bold text/headings and radio buttons in the message prompts when you go to delete pages from the admin pages?

as for the response: thanks for adding to the wish list. some of you alternatives might work out alright. i was starting to go down the road you mentioned, with hidden groups, but wanted to see if there's another way.

thanks again,
paul
