Is it possible to populate a dropdown box (when it is displayed or on opening a page)from a Perfectforms predefined list. I note that I can populate it during form design as it appears in the add predifined list. I am trying to avoid changing form design everytime the predifined list changes. Also noted that some time ago it wasn't possible to dynamically update a dropdown, is this still the case?
THANKS

If your email notifications to a group in MS Exchange are not getting through, look at the check box on the distribution group in Exchange that says “require that all senders are authenticated”. This is checked by default. Un-check that box, and your notifications should go through.

If you have a show message behavior on when a field gains focus, you will put the user into an endless loop because as soon as you click OK in the message the field gains focus again. This problem can be solved by choosing another action to trigger your show message behavior.

this behavior doesn't seem to work...

Is there a way to set a global variable which will be visible/accessible in all forms/pages? I'm trying out a system which requires a login, then if user exist, records of user on access level (which is modular based, add/edit/view/module) shall be set to a field (or global variable) and will be checked each time and action/button in the system is taken/pressed. I don't want to connect to db everytime to check on this.

Tip: If you are using a "run behavior" behavior object make sure to name the behavior you are referring to. That way when you (or someone else) return(s) to edit the form it will be easy to see what behavior is being referenced.

Delete it! Don't worry, you will get it back. That's right, if you know that a field is associated with a behavior(s) but do not know which one, delete the field. You will be given a warning message that will list the behaviors associated. This is when you hope that you have properly named your behaviors! Once you have written down the behaviors for reference, click OK, then go to Edit - Undo delete.

The units for the date difference function are as follows:

y - years
l - months
w - weeks
d - days
wd - working days
h - hours
m - minutes
s - seconds

If you have two date fields, or two time fields, you can use the Date Difference function to return the difference based on the value of the units. So, for example, if you had a start and end (time/date), To calculate the difference using the Date Difference function, you would enter the End (date/time) as the first value, the Start (date/time) as the second value, and the corresponding unit in which you wish to calculate the results in.

I have two page holiday application form (originally designed for 2010) which has basic employee information on page 1 and a history of holidays on page 2. When page 2 is selected from page 1 a "Page is opened" behaviour runs which basically loads a table with up-to-date data.
I have now duplicated this whole application for 2011 and discovered that when page 2 is selected, the "Page is opened" behaviour does not appear to work.
Have gone back to the 2010 version and that no longer seems to work so am I going crazy or has something changed with one of the last two updates.
HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THE FAULT ONLY OCCURS WITH A "BOOK PAGE TURNING EFFECT" - switch that off and everything works fine. I'm pretty certain that my 2010 application always worked with the "book page turning effect" active.

I have a registration form that has a checkbox group field. I'd like to send a receipt acknowledgement notification email to the submitter including all the checkboxes (captions) they checked in the form. I have tried selecting Checkbox Group as a field in the message tab, but when I test the form, the response only has one of the multiple items that I selected. I'd like to show them everything they checked. I hope this make sense. I'm sure the solution is simple, but I'm new at this. Thanks in advance.

Anybody experienced some of the objects in a behaviour layout moving to a random locations on the page especially if editing them or adding new objects from the toolbox. This very frustrating when you have a neat behaviour layout, you move the position of one item and it appears to just go to a random place taking its links with it. You try to put it back to where it was and it goes somewhere else. Having do one change, save thew design in case they and then do the next change. Have only noticed this since the last update (but that may be coincidental).

Hi,

I have a form with a number of pages with similar content except for some text.

Each page has a Radio Button Group with three radio buttons. I have added a behavior to "Group changes field data" for the Radio Button Group. This behavior uses a Multiple Branch to check which radio button is selected and then set another object on the page to a corresponding value, using the a Set Field command. This works fine.

Because all the pages in the form are to be the same (with just some text changes), I set up the first page (Page 1) so it works perfectly, then created a new page and copied all the objects from Page 1 to the new page (Page 2), using the Edit menu on the Layout designer. This also copies the Behaviors for the objects.

This all works great, EXCEPT that the copied behaviors on Page 2 still reference the objects on Page 1. That is, the Multiple Branch condition still references the Radio Buttons on Page 1 and the Set Field command still references the object on Page 1.

I expected that when an object is Pasted to a new page, and the object's behaviors are also pasted, that the resulting behavior would reference the new objects on the new page. It seems strange that it doesn't work this way.

Is this a bug or am I missing something? All help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I have identified an issue with the PerfectForms Date Difference function. When using the Date Difference function, with the unit set to working days (wd), if the date inputs are in different months and they span a weekend, the function will not correctly calculate the number of days.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? We are still on version 1.14; could this have been fixed in 1.15/1.16?

I have already submitted a more detailed description through the support request form, but I thought I would ask here as well, since this is affecting a form we have already deployed and we need to resolve the issue ASAP.

I would like to suggest an improvement to the Show Message behavior. Instead of only "OK or Cancel" or "Yes or No" options, how about a "Yes, No, or Cancel" option?

This would be useful in my current form, which prompts a user on close. After a user clicks close, if they have un-submitted changes, a message asks the user if they would like to submit the changes. Right now, they can click Yes or No. If yes, the changes are submitted and the form is closed. If no, the changes are not submitted, and the form is closed. If there were a cancel option, the user can click cancel and prevent the form from closing.

I can think of several workarounds (such as, if the user clicks no, have a second message ask if they would still like to close the form), but I think having a cancel button would be a cleaner way to achieve the objective.

I have a behavior tied to a button that calls a connection and fills a table object with the results. After the user searches they will click the row with the data they were searching for and I'd like a behavior to fire off for that event. The only problem I'm having is that by default the first row seems to already have focus after the table is populated. Is there a way to prevent this, or a better way to accomplish this type of functionality? Also i think it would make sense if there was a row click event instead of just on focus.

hi, just wondering if it's possibly to manipulate or update a form based on a javascript action.

for example, let's say i have an html link or input on the site. can i update the form based on the user clicking on the link? or do i have to create an "update" button on my form and force the user to click "update" then use the behavior "call javascript"?

if it is possible, could you direct me as to how i might do this?

thanks.

We are developping a multilingual form. In QUASK it was possible to show or hide items easily. How do we manage this in PF?

The show command for every text field? And what to hide text fields?

We have a page with a 'thank you message'. We attached a script submitting the data of the form when arriving on that page. However the window with message submitted comes on top on that page directly...

We would like the page to show for some seconds and than submitting the data.

We do not want them neither to click on a submit button on that last page, if that would be your suggestion....;-)
