I have a form to track the approval of a proposal document through a series of committees and administrators. At each step in the process, the person whose turn it is to approve/reject the proposal can add comments, accept/reject the document, and submit an attachment of an updated document (i.e. fix errors, add corrections, etc.). I want to be able to create a single link to the most recent version of the document on a page. Is that possible?

In addition to a production PerfectForms server, we also have a development server where we create and test all of our forms, reports, and connections. In a recent project, I found that migrating the form from one environment caused many (but not all) of the connection behaviors to break, requiring me to open the form and point each connect behavior to the correct connection/action. This also required me to re-map each connection parameter to the form fields.

Is there a way to synchronize connections across multiple environments to prevent this from happening?

So far as I could tell, this is what had happened:

1: In an earlier project, a connection and actions were created on the development server and migrated to the production server.

2: A new form project required new actions on the existing connections. Those actions were created on the development system and the production system separately (they were not migrated from the development system to the production system).

3: When the new form was migrated from one environment to the other, the behaviors mapped to actions that were originally migrated in the earlier project stayed intact, and behaviors mapped to actions that were recreated on the new environment broke.

This leads me to believe that each connection and/or action object has a hidden unique identifier which is preserved when a connection is migrated. If that is the case, is there a way to ensure that those unique identifiers are identical across environments without deleting and re-migrating connections?

Hello,
As typcially seen in help desk solution, the correspondences around the ticket are entered and viewed within the ticket for historical tracking. Can this type of interaction be created in perfectforms. For example, i create a request, then the tech asks a question, i answer, tech asks another q, i answer...etc. All of the q - a would be viewed in the form for this ticket along with who and the time of the entry.

When publishing forms to non-PF users, is there a way prevent multiple submissions?

Looking for a way to obtain/pass-in a IP address or likewise to identify an anonymous/non-PF user such that this can be checked for non-previous submission.

There does seem to be something close to this called HTTP Gateway User, but this appears to be something associated with SSO.

There is also something documented here - http://www.perfectforms.com/Documentation/tutorials/administering/html/index.html - about external call backs.

I can get the notification to be sent, with a link to the form, & password field in the form's log-on. But where would the password come from, using that method? How would the person being notified know what thier password is?

If you have a form with multiple pages. I have buttons to navigate back to a previous page, but if I happen to be on the second page of a form and hit the back button in Internet Explorer, I'm taken to the page I was at before I even started the form.

This is not uncommon with many web applications. The usual browser navigation buttons are 'external' to the form itself and will do this.
Other users in the past have covered this by adding in an explanation to the first page of their forms to point out to users to navigate form pages using the controls on the form.

Where you have already used the 'page button' to 'go to next page' as I'm sure you have, also add a page button set to 'go to previous page' for users to go back to other pages.

If over all your forms you use a similar 'layout' where perhaps your 'go back' buttons are always in a similar location (the bottom left of a page is the common location) all your users will easily follow this for all other forms as well.

Also though, you could present a special link to your users to access the form.

You could for instance present the link to the form within an HTML link where you can supress the usual browser navigation buttons..
something like:
Fill in our form

but of course set the width/height to your form dimensions

You can embed your forms to your website.

When you have published the form, click on the LINK button you see and there you’ll see a range of options. Embed form is one of them, but also the Pre-Load maybe useful as well.

Perfectforms allows you to create forms, and also embed those forms into other websites. Please refer to this section in our user manual and follow the directions:

The normal way to route a form to a person is in the WorkFlow area (the W button in the designer) where you would send the form into the next stage and set the 'notify' action as the form data is submitted.

if you though want to allow a user to 'save' so the form does not go to this next stage then one way is to add a 'save or submit' radio check box field to the form for the user to select, and then run a conditional script under the for property | Form Submits data event based on the selection. If they select 'save' then under the branch, add a 'notify' action to send back an email to the user with the link to the form (and the appropriate message you want to tell them)

then on the Workflow action (where you want to send the form to the next stage) use a corresponding condition such that it only runs when submit is selected
