I was wondering if anyone has experience with how (and if) these forms will work on a mobile platform / smartphone. I tested one on my Droid and it seemed a bit tedious - there's no way to "tab" from box to box (like a "next" button that opens with my keypad as I've seen on other online forms) and the page won't easily slide for me when in an enlarged view (I have to shrink it back to regular size and then scroll down, then re-enlarge to touch the next field I want to enter info into.) I haven't tested it with an iPhone at all so I don't know what that experience would be like. Completing our webforms on a smartphone or tablet computer would be a great alternative to offer our patients so I'd appreciate any feedback from others' experience.

Is the maximum number of characters in a a Text Input or Text Area column in a Table object really just 400? Are there plans to increase this in future releases? I have a form that with a Multiline Text Input that I've set to 800 characters but now I have to drop it to 400 so I can load that field into a column in a table.

I'm trying to create lists with commas in them with "city, states".

Using the quick input a comma is the delimiter for value.
Importing a .csv file imports the names with quotes around them, which I have to manually remove.

How can I do quick input or CSV such that imports will have the commas excluded as delimiters and quotes won't appear around each item?

Also, is it possible to export a list?

If the PerfectForms dashboard or forms are loading very slowly and you have eliminated bandwidth and connection speed issues your settings may not allow Flash to properly cache. You can control the amount of cache a Flash site is allowed to use on your computer. Macromedia has a site with a control panel that lets you control the website storage settings on your machine. The control panel you will see on this site is not an image; it is the actual Settings Manager. Click the tabs to see different panels, and click the options in the panels to change your Adobe Flash Player settings.
Click this link to manage your settings: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html.

Is there a way to turn off vertical and horizontal scrolling in a PF form that is embedded into a HTML page? I realise I can manipulate the width and height (eg. add 1x pixel to width and height), but when I do, the form adds a single pixel padding to the left and top of the form. My predicament is to embed the code with the exact width and height attributes and it has scrolling in some browsers (IE9), or increase the width and height by 1x pixel which removes the PF scrollers but adds the 1x pixel padding. I want neither, I would prefer a parameter to turn off scrolling if I could. Thanks in advance. (Below code of same embed)

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://my-domain.com/utils.js"></script><script type="text/javascript">pf_embed("http://mydomain.com/player.aspx", "AbCd", "f=gKgDrAoB", "950", "800", "window"); </script>

Hi, Two things I'm unable to perform with my published forms (v1.18) are related:

1. In the Embed code with the background set to "transparent", as opposed to "window" by default the form defaults to the background-color (white). My embed file sits on a HTML page with a patterned background, it is this I want to come through. How do I do this?

2. How can I hide horizontal and vertical scrolling in a published form. The size of the form has an output of width and height 100x100, if I add the embed code into my HTML page there is vertical and horizontal scroller in IE browsers (tested v8 and v9). If I add a single pixel to the width and height (101x101) I sure enough get rid of the scrollers but I now have a single pixel width and height added to my form, which I do not want. How might I address this in PF?

Cheers!

Does anyone know what may be causing field data not to display once a form has been submitted? The data is visible in the data history and it can be exported, however when the form is opened the data does not display. There is no workflow on the form and the state is default. Is there such a thing as a disjoint betweent he form and the database?

Hi

I have a client with over 100 managers that will need access to a survey I have created for them.

They do not want paper reports and would like to view my survey results via a web page. With Quask, I could set this up very in a few minutes.

I can't see a way of doing this with Perfect Forms. I DO NOT WANT TO SET ALL THESE PEOPLE UP AS USERS, If I do this the software is NOT economical for running surveys. I just want to display a dashboard showing the current data.

Can you help?

When sending out to a text file, I'm noticing that commas that a person enters into a field are becoming what I'm guessing are ASCII codes so as to appear correctly in, say, Excel. However, when I try to import into Access I'm not seeing the records with the user entered commas.

The only way I can think to resolve this is to have a separate function for each field and purge any commas (or at least replace them). Before I take on this task, does anyone know of any simpler methods?

Is it possible to populate a dropdown box (when it is displayed or on opening a page)from a Perfectforms predefined list. I note that I can populate it during form design as it appears in the add predifined list. I am trying to avoid changing form design everytime the predifined list changes. Also noted that some time ago it wasn't possible to dynamically update a dropdown, is this still the case?

I'm currently (trying) test a form's workflow and view the email output. The form must get approval from two people (minimal). On the first path from the default stage, there is a notification. This notification is set up like so:
-Initial notification email to the first approver. Sends 'Now'.
-Reminder email to the first approver. Sends after 8 minutes (for testing).
-Alert the second approver of a delay. Sends after 16 minutes (for testing).

The first two are to be sent to the same 'Role' (and currently all Test Roles have my email address). However, when I submit a form I only get one email, and it is the Reminder email. This is extremely odd behavior and I'm wondering if anyone dealt with this problem before? I can't seem to pinpoint the problem either.

I've tried setting the times to 1 and 2 days, thinking the emails could be too close together, but the one supposed to send 'Now' still doesn't send. I also tried separating them, recreating them, etc and still no luck. Everything is the same except for attention level and content. I've duplicated the reminder email and tried to send it 'Now'. Also, 'Send as Email' is checked on all of them. Help would be appreciated!

I have a form instance with the out of the box function for User to add/upload an attachment.

Steps to recreate the issue:
1. End User clicks on the 'add' button in PF published form (dialogue window opens)
2. User locates and selects the file to upload (e.g. PDF / 160kb)
3. User clicks 'open' in the dialogue window (upon click of the button 'open' I noticed an ERROR, see below, when viewing in a Charles session proxy)
4. Note: The file successfully uploads and is displayed in the form.

The error is a concern because many of my customers use this function across their internal network, and this error prompts their internal proxy network login window to appear. If I can understand the nature of error code "0" there may be a relationship with the network error my customers are experiencing.

we are almost full on our storage limit, Most of it is from a specific form we use regularly, it has a section to atatch vendor quotes in PDF form which adds up to a lot of space. Is there any way to purge the attatchments out of the instances to save space? Deleting the instances entirely is not an option.

If I wanted to turn the first letter in a text field to an upper case and leave the rest lower case how could I do accomplish this? example:

First Name: John

To keep everything standard I am using the upper case for all text fields. (set field: formula, add function, upper case) this makes the whole text field upper case.

Can I use this: set field, formula, add function, lower case, or left trim, = 1 and upper case or the replace function to accomplish this? Thanks for your time.

When I use the embedded code provided in the 'Link' section, I noticed that there is no Flash detection and a notification or maybe a redirection/new window (ie, send them to adobe). I'm also not exactly savvy when it comes to JavaScript and HTML, and was wondering if there was a Flash detection script you would recommend? Other than swfobject, that is, needs to be shorter and simpler.

Is there a way to create a GUID with PF.
A globally unique identifier is a unique reference number used as an identifier in computer software. The term GUID also is used for Microsoft's implementation of the Universally unique identifier (UUID) standard. It is commonly known as a "GOOEY ID" in Call of Duty 4 game servers.

The value of a GUID is represented as a 32-character hexadecimal string, such as {21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}, and is usually stored as a 128-bit integer. The total number of unique keys is 2128 or 3.4×1038. This number is so large that the probability of the same number being generated randomly twice is negligible.

Are there any recommendations out there regarding using the Connection Agent with Forefront Threat Management Gateway? We really want a reverse proxy in front of the connection agent since the connections it makes are so sensitive. What ports need to be open on the front end? Is 80 or 443 sufficient?

Is there any way that I can compare the changes made to a form between versions other then opening one version, noting the behaviors, closing, opening the other version and then comparing to what I have written down?

If your company is using Single Sign On (SSO) the Account Administrator needs to enable the SSO gateway in the Settings tab in the dashboard. If a different license holder in PerfectForms also checks the Enable box all of that user's forms will publish using SSO regardless of whether or not the SSO box is checked in the Link dialogue for the individual form. This will cause a problem if the user does not want to publish all forms using SSO.

Hello,
I have a parent form with two child forms. Can I have multiple instances of one of the child forms on the same parent instance?

I am getting some wonky results with it - When more than one instance of the child form is created in the same session (The parent is not saved/submitted between instances), the original child instance is opened instead of a new blank instance. I'm also getting form notifications going to the wrong people (Notifications directed to an email address taken from a field, which is set via a Custom Parameter or Connection, depending on a drop-down fiel selection). Since my form design looks like it should work, I conclude that the problem lies in how the parent-child relationship works.

Any thoughts?

Hi

At the moment I think the only way to have workflow evaluated is by submitting the form. We have some very detailed forms which have to perform multiple submits in order for the workflow to run. This causes lots of screen flashing for the user as the form is closed and re-opened several times.

Is there any way workflow could be evaluated by using a behaviour - I know not possible at the moment but is this something which is being looked at for future releases?

thanks
