   Is there a way to place drop down menus within the cells of the tables?

   Yes.. go to the properties of your table object. and to the TYPE column for the specific column in your table you wish to use. Click and you can see the types allowed.. Drop Down is one of these.
   To then set the items for your drop down, click in the table object on the specific column and the column properties will be presented and you can then set your items as you would in a standalone drop down object.
