Open instances

    If I create a questionnaire with a submit button. the instances always stay set to open. Is this correct? If not what should I do to set them to closed.

    look at how using the workflow diagram where you have a default first stage and then a CLOSED stage. Even if your form is not requiring 'workflow routing' using this will set your forms as closed
    go to the user guide 'search' tab and search for CLOSED
