I can modify a multiline text cell limit to accept >400 (the default) characters.  And then you can enter in that many characters.  However when you try to query information from that cell in a report it will not find anything beyond the 400th character.  Also when exporting to excel the cell export is limited to 400 characters.  Why this does this happen?  If we are allowed (no errors) to set the max number greater than 400 why isn’t the data available in reports or exports?

To get the data from a large Multiline text input out of PerfectForms you will need to use the Connection Agent to write to an outside database. Our help guide describes the Connection Agent: http://www.perfectforms.com/Documentation/manual/html/?lookup_agent.htm. It is a much better method than exporting anyway. You can set it up to write to your DB as part of the workflow of your form so your DB will always be live, and the data/fields you export will be in your schema, not PerfectForms’ schema.

If you need assistance installing or configuring the Connection Agent, please submit a support inquiry and we will be happy to assist you: https://www.perfectforms.com/help-center/support-inquiry/.
