Is it possible to open a single child from a parent in the same window in such a way that, when we get back to the parent from the child and open the child again, it opens the same instance of the child and not a new instance. I have a form (dummy form) which has a open form – single child button which opens a child form. From the child form I have a button that submits the child and opens the parent. So far it works fine, but when I click the open child button in the parent again, it creates another instance of the child and doesn’t open the same instance even though I have ‘single child’ as the option in the show form button selected.
I think your problem is being caused because you have not identified a field to hold the child instance ID in the Show Form behavior object. In the properties there is a place to select field to hold the form instance ID. If you are not saving that ID the parent has no way of referring back to the child.
