A label is simply text or a graphic that identifies an app object.

With an app loaded in the App Designer:

 

Several input objects will also automatically include a text object. If you have dragged one of these input objects onto the canvas, the associated text object will be highlighted. All you have to do is start typing enter the text.

If you want to add other labels follow these steps.

1.Select the Layout section of the Toolbox and drag a Heading or Text object onto the page.

2.After dropping the object, position the cursor in the object and enter the label text.

3.To modify the appearance of the text object, expand the Style section on the Properties panel and edit the settings.

 

Use of html tags in a text (or heading) object can be quite useful if the designer wants to apply simple formats to sections of the text. If the HTML property is checked, then the contents of the text property are rendered as HTML. While only a limited subset of HTML tags are supported, the most commonly used tags for formatting purposes are supported and listed below.

o<i> italics </i>
